- In the month of January 2018, Archer Daniels Midland, an American global food processing and commodities trading corporation, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, USA has paired with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory which is one of the United States Department of Energy national laboratories in Richland, Washington, USA to produce biobased propylene glycol with sorbitol and glycerol. This new source of monopropylene glycol is economically competitive with renewable sources that meets American Society for Testing and Materials standards for 100% biobased renewable carbon content. - Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), a Government of India controlled Maharatna oil and gas company headquartered in Mumbai, has set up a polyol, propylene glycol and mono ethylene glycol petrochemical complex at one of its refineries located at Ambalamugal, Kerala in Southern India.
